Thinking about a quartz GS.....

Hello again!

I'm thinking about getting a quartz GS to go with my SBGW047.

I was curious if anyone has either seen or owns either:

- the Self Dater limited re-issue ref SBGV 009 / 011, or
- the 44GS style SBGV 005 / 007.

I like the Seiko historical re-issues (must also think about trying to get an SBGW 033 some time), but I also like the 44GS style case - so it's a difficult choice for me!

I remember reading about how the case on the SBGW047 is forged 13 times at 1,100 degrees I think before being polished - are all of the 44GS style cases made in the same way?

The SBGV 005 / 007 does look to be a really nice watch and it's slim too, but it's also 40mm diameter and I do like the slightly smaller size of the historic re-issues. It is also quite a bit less money than the self dater!

So if anyone has handled or indeed owns any of these watches I'd love to hear your thoughts, especially on the SBGV005 / 007.

Thanks for any feedback and Best wishes to all GS fans!

Vernon.
