My first self-purchased watch is a Rolex GMT . I bought it brand new from an AD in Southern California in November of 1986. $1,250 “out the door”. I still have it, still love it, though I don’t wear it much.

Over time, I became very interested in Patek Philippe. My taste in watches went from the utilitarian “Tool Watch” nature of the Rolex GMT to the “Dress Watch” nature of Patek Philippe. Certainly, I still own my GMT , but my “Daily Wearer”, ( I hesitate to...

Also purchased on “lay away” over several months. Everyone thought I was crazy, except my mother. LOL Here it is. I’ve not worn it this year, this picture is from last year. For me, when I think about a watch this is what I think about. ...

I still own (and put new batteries whenever necessary) on the quartz tag heuer aquaracer which I bought for myself to celebrate my medical school graduation, in 2009. I’ll try to dig up a picture. I’d pined after that watch for 5 long years

I remember my first Rolex. Wanted and waited 20 years to afford one. Bought it on a credit card. Couldn’t afford cash. Never took it off the first year . 20 years later I amassed a nice collection of higher end watches, so I gave it to my godson, nephew, ...

That’s one of the very strong pro‘s of Rolex. Their design language lasts for decades. I still own my first watch. A Seiko (partly gold plated) chrono moonphase with a quartz movement. I got it from my father when I was 18 and had to go to the military. T...
