UPDATE
So where I live, the ex head of the local Rolex service center now works at another watch/antique business. I dropped the watch off and they gave me a quote of $830 USD for the service, polish and repair of the crown (new OEM direct from Rolex). I’m very happy with this! Good news is that the mechanism works well, keeps time, just dry, so the oil will help. They will try and clean it up as well as they can. I’ll post pics upon return. Will be a few weeks
