The Japanese makers .. yet another challenge..
With SEIKO bringing the ANANTE line to the USA and elsewhere the Swiss face yet more challenges. The new SEIKO line is attractive, well built and priced under the premium Swiss brands.
Due to the weak global economy I think that MSRP on the premium Swiss brands will go down. I know that is hard to believe given the global inflation that has occurred for several decades. But this inflation trend has ended in my opinion and the result will be a deflation in many prices including that of Swiss watches.
Many bargains to come for the thrifty.

I do believe that most manufacturers are going to be served a very large slice of humble pie. When it appears that everybody loves you, you can pretty much demand of them whatever you want. However, when that mindset changes and the market has fallen back...

I think Seiko, Citizen and the likes of Casio, etc., are still going strong despite the world economy, although I've noticed there are more and more people not wearing watches at all since they have a very accurate clock in their cel phones or PC's, etc. ...
