That is why I love this forum... the information is fantastic, the contributors are passionate, and combine that with some great watch collecting friends --- I was able to quickly identify and acquire some really nice pieces vintage rolexes.  

To be honest, I'm really enjoying both vintage and modern pieces now.   And my foray into vintage has helped me moderate my willingness to chase hot new releases so I'm doing a lot less 'buying then selling' than before.

My favorite is the 5508 but the close 2nd would be the explorer 2 prototype. I have a coupl of other vintage pieces that wld be right up there too. My 5513/1675 gilt dials are awesome. Thx. OpC

The explorere 2 is a prototype dial. It is well documented in a couple of rolex books. Best,OpC

... very interesting, could you tell something more about this "prototype" dial ? what about the 'T swiss T " at 6 hours? In your opinion, what age is it? ps: have you got any picture of the retro of this dial? thanks in advance ;)
