Something you don’t see very often:The Rolex Cellini
Dec 30, 2021,18:12 PM
After buying the VC FiftySix last week, the Rolex Cellini Dual Time kept going through my mind. I really love the combination of the brown dial and the everose gold. And although I prefer my watch to show a date, the Cellini with it’s second time zone on the bottom of the dial looked better to me than the VC. And what bugged me in the end was reading about the Vacheron Constantin that the movement is not 100% pure manufacture…and for that price I prefer to have an original VC movement. So I decided to exchange the VC for the Cellini. The Dual Time had been discontinued because it is no longer on the Rolex website. The Cellini is not a well loved line from Rolex, but I really like it. Vacheron Constantin may have a better reputation being one of the trinity brands (PP, AP and VC), but in the end the Cellini won my heart while the VC, however nice it may be, just did not make my heart skip a beat. I guess I am more of a Rolex lover than I thought…even when it comes to choosing a dress watch😬

I am sorry to hear that, because the VC is

Still a very handsome watch. It is just for me that knowing the movement is not entirely in house made (manufacture) that it spoils the fun a bit, I like to have the original stuff inside especially at this price point.

I started with a Swatch in the 80’s and have tried several brands in the last 40 years. And not only the well known brands. I still like my JeanRichard TV Chrono or my Sinn Flieger, but all in all Rolex watches turn out to be the most reliable and easy to...
Thanks a lot!

Well, it looks like all Cellini models (except the Moonphase)
By: One day just one watch : December 30th, 2021-20:45
Will be discontinued as of next year. I believe you are not allowed to talk prices here but I saw the new pricelist on a German website and only the Moonphase is mentioned. I knew the Dual Time was already removed from the Rolex website let’s see if the i...

what happens in a couple of days… Actually the pricelist for 2022 that I saw was a German one and that list no longer carried the reference numbers for the other Cellini models. But I guess we won’t know for sure until it is 2022😉
I hope I am allowed to post this…

It is a piece of the new German pricelist for 2022 (without the prices) where you can see just one reference number for the Cellini line. That is why I think the other models will be discontinued but like I wrote before: time will tell ...

That really sounds nice, because I was in doubt at first, but now not anymore, grazie!
It sure does feel like taking the road less traveled

But so far I have only gotten nice remarks about my new watch, even from friends who only like and wear the steel sport models. The reaction often is: I have never seen one (or looked at one) in real life, but hey it looks really nice. So, let’s see where...
