My first Rolex, purchased at the Hodin kee booth at the NYC pop-up flea. Thanks to Ben and Stephen for helping me pick this one out! I believe this is the later version 1675 with the hacking feature so dates to 1971~1980. This is my first experience with ...

That was what I had on at the time of the purchase, so I thought it would be nice to include it. :) I think it is a little jealous, though.

with Rolex you can be a lot more precise about the date. A range of 1971- 1980 is pretty wide. Just look between the lugs and give the first 4 or 5 numbers and we can date the watch easily. There will be a second set of number also between the lugs that s...

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction! The serial number is 5082799 so it looks like 1977 according to one website... please correct me if this is incorrect! Also confirmed the 1675 stamping at the 12 o'clock position. :) Thanks!

What is interesting is the shape of the crown is similar to the Radial crown shape "Long fingers - pronounced oval" which appears in the same serial range. But the index marker of the Radial are much smaller. But you have a great looking watch. Bill

Thank you for the detailed observation! A quick search of what you were talking about led me to this post by Nicolas: The Radial dial is certainly very interesting! Amazing how many little things we can look for in an otherwise seemingly identical watche...
