Rolex submariner history
Those who know me are aware I am a fan of the smallcrown submariner. Maybe its because I like to take small steps and have not yet reached the BC brother. Maybe it is also because I believe that sometimes it is nice to focus on something that not everyone else is focussed on. Whatever the case, I now have 4 small crowns. Two 6536-1 which are sublime (perhaps my favorite reference of the smallcrowns) and the two small crowns you see here above. On the left, the relatively rare 6205 (especially in good condition) and on the right a 6204 which cost me an arm and leg last year at Christies. Do I regret it? Ofcourse not. I will soon be doing in -depth report on both watches and comparing these two animals. For they are indeed very different. The crown, the dial, the hands, the caseback. Just about the only thing that is the same is the bezel insert. For now enjoy two important (historically seen) submariners both from 1954.
NB: For those who follow Baron (joe) here and knew his collection the watch on the left might seem familiar to many....
