Rolex Milgauss 1019 " Cern " dials: Basic or double signature?
A so called Cern dial is a dial without tritium indices and hands.
The luminous material is replaced by a black material.
Why? I don't have a serious answer.
Here is the normal " Cern " dial ( Credit picture Roberto, I think ) 
And here, the double signature, Tiffany, in this case ( Credit picture unknown ) :
If we don't consider the condition ( the Tiffany is much better ), I would prefer the simple dial to the double signature.
Indeed, if we consider the Milgauss like a Tool Watch, then such a luxurious double signature is not very à propos.
Even if it is much rarer.
But rarity doesn't make all...

The watch probably doesn't need lume
since that CERN tunnel is so radioactive everything is lit up-people included.

It has always been underappreciated but surprisingly its price has always remained relatively at the same level. I don't like the modern version but I find this one quite appealing ! Best, Mike
Absolutely right + silver or black dial...
...although for this latter question it is clear to me (just like for 6263 btw) with a clear choice for silver dial...
True but I would not pull the trigger on a even very nice black dial one, but...
...not sure I could resist to a very nice silver dial one. I have nothing against a black dial on divers 5512, 5513, 1665, 1675... and all others but I don't know why I much prefer the silver dian on this one...
Double signature ..
was never my cup of grappa on any watch but I must confess that Cern dial has it charm...reminding me of GP Chronometer HF

Not considering the extra signature. Personally I prefer the thinner text on the Tiffany over the regaular. Don't care for Tiffany, that would only make it a high risk watch for wife to steal! But the bigger selling detail here for me are the hands on the...
The CERN dial is quite appealing :)
Both for the connotation - CERN being a place where the magnetic protection is quite relevant - and the no lume. I concur that it\'s more fitting with the single signage, though

Between silver and black, in this rare case, silver. This watch is so close to my heart. Dream f the day of a modern 38mm Milgauss with serious antimagnetic performance. Now if I judge from the new SD, that day will not happen in my lifetime most likely

......first, I agree 100% that thenature of this watch makes the Tiffany signature somewhat unecessary. Yes.....very rare, but not in keeping with the character of the watch. Just my opinion. .....second.....because it is such a "serious" and focussed wat...
you know.....the pair would be quite something....
.....like 5110...such different personalities. It takes a lot these days for me to see something interesting in vintabge Rolex....needs to be post-radium as a starter and an interesting watch to my mind.....1019 ticks both boxes
I prefer the normal Cern dial.
For me the "normal" dial looks "finer" and the "Tiffany" logo doesn\'t fit to a tool watch. Best, Thomas

I see many versions of this watch with either " - SWISS - " or " T SWISS T " but confused about the meaning. Late 60s 1019s should not be radium, but can't be tritium... so what is it on the hands and markers? Love the brushed silver as well.
