1675 dial patina vs 16800 patina?

The typical 1675 patina I see creates a “smooth” grayish dial. By contrast, this 16800 tritium dial looks more speckled. Is it different materials? Or just that some age differently? ...  

Very different: The 1675 has a matte dial, the 16800 had a lacquer which took the water and or the sun and which developed this look.
