According to that press release, the original Oyster that went on the outside of the Trieste has a PLEXIGLASS crystal?

Am I reading that right? I always assumed it was sapphire- am I really wrong? I assumed for that depth, compressive resistance
properties of sapphire were necessary.

I have always been fascinated by the Oyster watch that went down with the Trieste- one of the few feats I truly find impressive in watchmaking.

I need to see detailed diagrams or calculations as to how they arrived at this particular thickness of sapphire against hydrostatic pressure-
I need to see how this watch works, in detail, even if I can never buy it. The fact is, someone somewhere has made it, it exists, and I must know
how it works!

51 mm is way too big, I would wear it only during carnivals, while I could deal with 45 mm... Best, Nicolas

but I think they may put it into limited production, the main purpose of the challenger is to promote the sea-dweller and submariner (to an extent) as well as reaffirm Rolex's hold on dive watches (or perhaps as the aspirational watch for 99% of the popul...

For those who are worried the watch is too big for their wrist, they must have forgotten, what about wearing it on the bicep. It will then be easier to tell the time, since it going to be closer to our eyes.

Guillaume Seventies Good idea, even the tornadoes will not be able to blow your documents, away. I am sure, you need more than one. I do not mind, if you employ me as your cleaner, in the room where the paperweight is.
