you, Nicolas and the fellow PuristS, the other thing is the experience when you own vintage pieces.
If I believe that I have accumulated some experience with my Oldtimer cars by researching them, buying them, repairing them and racing them (and ruining them) I believe I am still a virgin with vintage watches.
The time will come but in the meantime, I learn and develop the passion reading you and the friends, to make sure that I commit less mistakes then I did with my cars.
When I buy an oldtimer it is about the process of acquiring it, researching about it, what I call : " La montee de l' escalier" which wakes up your desire of owning the piece.
That is the main reason why I am still a theoretical collector and not a true one.
But thank you for being kind, this is the difference between being a member of the PuristS and the other forums.
(OT: maybe you can have a look of the treasures I found in Provence in my Time for a break post in Time Out,talking about vintage , if you have time)
Best regards.
BTW. Paris is on this year for the Motorshow, are you going to be around?
Cheers,
Luc
