Have to say I also like the thought: buy new and make it vintage. However I would never buy a new YG Rolex on presidential bracelet just because that is plain wrong.
We will see how and if it will play out, still a bit concerned buying vintage (online) from a dealer that I do not know....

but I have to rectify myself. It seems that I'm developing a strong affinity towards a 1655. So now I've got a problem. Where to find an original one for a not to silly price...(as I know nothing about vintage Rolex) Oh dear, oh dear vintage sucks ;-)...
Patience, hunt, and some homework.
The good news is that the 1655 is not too high in price, nowadays.... The bad news is that to find one in very good condition and original is not that easy... I spent several years before finding mine. Here it is.... A reference I adore! Best, Nicola...

I am not that much into Rolex but I needed to have the 1655 straight hand and the 1675 gilt dial ...

That's why i said: vintage sucks. Meaning: it's a snake pit buying a true original one. I can imagine that even a specialist can be fooled. How many vintage watches are out there with complete (not faked) papers & history?
