My first Rolex GMT MASTER 6542.
I bought this 6542 in 2009, and sold it to a good friend of mine in 2011, to upgrade this reference and get the one I really wanted which I fully enjoy till now.
Here you have an aftermarket bakelite bezel which is not too bad looking, a service tritium dial from the 70's with a very nice silver wording, and an engraved back, as it was the watch of a Doctor which was in the US Army.
The funny thing is that my friend sold it a few years ago, and that my original seller got it back in his collection, and showed it to me in Dec 2018.
The world is small...
And it is always something to see a watch which belonged to you and which you didn't see for years.

The only GMT master model I really like... Any news about the Black Bay GMT?
I saw it last week in Barcelona,
It's definitely thinner than a Black Bay 41. Besides, I'm not sure that they will make a new smaller movement with complications for the 39mm case!
6542 is really a very special ref.
As you know I love nice GMT's and have a soft soft for beautiful 1675 gilt particularly and of course nice 6542 ones. Really cool specimen here even with the aftermarket insert which of course makes a big difference...
