My Christmas & New year watch...

Hello friends!

I wish to share with you my Christmas & New Year watch. Or my  "Good Luck" watch, as I call it. Let me explain:

Though I´m not very fond of wearing gold watches (nor it is very safe to wear a Rolex gold watch down here) I make an exception with this little old one, for a good reason.

It is a Rolex Date, reference 1501, which was bought brand new at a local AD and presented to me by my wife in 1982, for a very special celebration. Thus it is a very special timepiece to me.

Since that year, and with no exception, I have been wearing this same watch for every night of the 24 of December, every Christmas Day, every night of the 31st of December, and the first day of every year.

This is an old custom now, and all my family expect to see me wearing this watch when we celebrate together these festivities every year. I have been faithful to the custom for the last 30 years, and this end of 2012 is no exception. I consider it a good luck "charm" on my wrist!.

I wonder if any of my good friends here at Purists, also got a Xmas & New year watch!
