I've hesitated to acquire this model, and then finally I delayed and found myself with an MK2 at my wrist:
I love Explorer, just the name is dreaming.

It might be a very collectible Rolex watch in future.
There are people who discuss this model as an erroneous dial due to short minute hand. I like the white gold numerals on it. This makes watch classy and different from other Ranger type watches. Wear it in good health. Regards

I agree. Love mine and think it is also a shout out to the old and now rare "blackout" Explorer.
I'm sorry, I didn't know about Blackout Explorer earlier. Here are the pictures.
This was first batch of 14270 sapphire crystal with back paint filled 3 6 and 9 on dial. The writing was also in silver instead of white paint. ...
There was Explorer 214270 model with solid white gold 3 6 and 9 numeral that's now called Explorer mk1.
The present Explorer 1 with lumes on 3 6 and 9 as well is having same reference number 214270 and is called mk2. I think missing lume on previous model might be called Blackout Explorer. I don't know about any other Blackout Explorer.
OK, by older model I thought you meant vintage, otherwise I am familiar with the modern "blackout"
BTW, today's Explorer is officially known as the M214270-0003.
