Minute hand spring
Like you I'm obsessed about the alignment of the minute hand at zero second as well!
Anyway, the spring-like sensation in the Rolex movement is quite normal and was a 'shock' to me when I first handled it. Not sure what to say about it except to say it is different from the feel of the my ETA movements watches and sometimes not the easiest to align as you have to take into the account the springiness
Anyway, your watch needs a service.
Another obsession I have is with the date change. I like it to happen as close to midnight as possible. It was +30s after midnight before servicing but after servicing it is now - 1min30s before midnight so there appears to be some block magic involved during reassembly

Both the modern SD's I owned had this problem. The only way around it is to advance the minute hand a tad forward of where you want it and it'll spring back when the crown is put back in. The Subs I had were Ok for some reason. Cheers Pete
thanks guys
