I have a suggestion....
at the beginning of eachh week, set the watch 2m and 20 sec slow.
By the end of the week it will be accurate!
get it serviced.

Like you I'm obsessed about the alignment of the minute hand at zero second as well! Anyway, the spring-like sensation in the Rolex movement is quite normal and was a 'shock' to me when I first handled it. Not sure what to say about it except to say it is...

Both the modern SD's I owned had this problem. The only way around it is to advance the minute hand a tad forward of where you want it and it'll spring back when the crown is put back in. The Subs I had were Ok for some reason. Cheers Pete

Thanks for the info guys, the recent posts are very constructive. Yep, I'm planning on getting it in for a service, almost 4 yeqrs old now, just not looking ofrward to it being away for the 14 weeks the AD is estimating. Oh well, guess the Seamaster will ...
