the 6239 movement timeline is:

- cal. 72B from 1963 to 1965

- cal. 722 from 1965 to 1967

- cal. 722/1 for the last production.

For instance, my 6239 with serial 1,658,XXX has a cal. 722.

As you say, the improved cal. 727 was designed in the late 1960's for ref. 6262/6264.

I am not aware of any testing of the cal. 727 in the mid 1960's, but why not...or the movement of your watch has been changed at some point during service.

Concerning the position of the word Daytona, your dial sounds very corect. Your bezel also.
