Hi folks I know I've written a thread on getting a GMT but after borrowing a 1675 it simply wasn't calling me. My hunt then shifted to a 1680. Around here it's very hard to find a good original example. One unit was available but with a lot of replacement...

Hard to compare due to the bad quality of the pictures but maybe Romulux can compare Rolex Service dial 5508 - Source Chrono-Shop ...  

In person the 5508 I was holding had a slight blob like look on the indices. The service dial picture has a kind of outer ring look to it. I was told all work was done by RSC in 1990. In my research on Submariner and Sea Dweller dials, sometimes T25 dials... 

I found a VRF thread discussing this. A Lumi dial was indeed made for 5508. Is posting links disallowed here?

I am not sure I f personally would enjoy a luminova dial even if it was a RSC install. It loses a lot of the vintage charm. Just my personal opinion. Please feel free to link to VRF. But please give us some guidance to help understand. Bill

I would say that the first choice is the original dial, then the service Tritium, then the Luminova... which coincides with the respective value of these different dials, of course.
