i've been there...
and could never quite pull the trigger on a dd2 w/ the glacier dial in platinum... I would always seem to find myself attracted to a more complicated piece or an independent. If I were you... I'd actually take the plunge because it'll only get more expensive every year and trying to justify it over a complicated PP will become that much more difficult. Funny way of justifying it but those are my 2 cents.

I was in my local AD and was about to close the deal on a DD2 with glarcia diamond dial, but my AD keep telling me to get a PP instead for that sort of money. I already have a few PPs and I have benefited heaps from his advise on most of my high end purch...

If you are comfortable with the weight of the watch, go with the DD2. It's a unique watch and will only compliment the Pateks that you have.
