People say that there aren't too many Explorer references

What they forget is that there are damn near infinite variations in all those references! I now have the 214270 "Mark II", 114270, and a "frog-foot" matte dial 1016.

That only leaves...let's see...

6098
6298 non-3-6-9 white dial
6298 non-3-6-9 black dial
6298 white 3-6-9 dial
6298 black 3-6-9 dial
6150
6350 honeycomb dial
6350 non-honeycomb dial
6610 white sweep
6610 white lollipop sweep
6610 gilt sweep
6610 red depth rating
5500 34mm "Precision" Explorer non-gilt
5500 34mm "Precision"Explorer gilt dial
5504 "Super Precision"
1016 gilt dial
1016 late matte dial
14270
14270 Blackout dial
214270 "Mark I"
...

I'm sure I missed so many other variations, too!

I really should have gotten one way back when they upgraded it in 2016. The Explorer is probably my favorite modern Rolex reference.

My favorite Rolex

I think I want another "pilot's watch" before I add another Rolex.

Excellent choice

This one’s on my list..

Probably the best proportioned current model steel sports Rolex out there.. at least for me. Great catch! Best, Echi

100% agree Echi

Especially about the proportions. Most Rolex models lost theirs when they got super-cased!

It is gone but the new version interests me a lot. Very nice and understated Rolex... An old pic, Best, Mahesh., ...

Mahesh, I'm warming up to the "Mark I"

It will definitely be collectible in the future because it had such a short run.
