Doing some digging into the bracelet...

Jul 24, 2009,05:31 AM

As you say, the bracelet is not original to the watch. It has 12 links over 16cm. It has 6635 on one end and each lug-link has 57. It is extendable. The digging I have done suggests that this expansion bracelet was produced in the 1960s.

the first owner of this watch purchased it in the late 1960s and kept it until 2003. It was then sold to the person who I purchased it from, and he was told that the strap had never been changed. I wonder whether the original owner elected to use a different strap format right from the very start. One can only conjecture.

Bottom line  is that i am very happy with it. Still, if anyone knows where i might be able to get an original bracelet with the end-link 71 mark, please feel free to give me a shout.

Joe
