I did th same with Breitling for years, buying for relatives and friends.
Even the last one (Breitling SuperOcan) was "for the current Ms MTF" but mysteiously, she gave it back to me. !!!
If I was to get a New Rolex, it would be the Explorer II. Of couse, a New Old Stock Explorer I is the dream....

Looks so un-rolex. Those protective film on the bezel are factory. I have not yet pull them off. I just got the watch. First thing I did change to this nato camo straps. 😬
