It was love at first sight with the 116520 - the first Daytona with an in house automatic movement. I know many these days prefer the zenith movement Daytonas, but back in the day this was all anyone could talk about. ...

But there isn’t one that I’m on a waiting list for or looking to buy (unless someone offers me a LeMans - which won’t happen). But I live many watches that aren’t Rolex if that’s what you’re asking.

are there other luxury brands other than wristwatches (cars, clothes etc) that you have a strong brand loyalty / connection with?

I would say it’s more categories. Something to the lake of German cars, Italian clothes, and French wine.

It is such a sensational watch. I have the ceramic bezel version and have always thought about adding this. Part of me feels it’s redundant. But pictures like this make me want to throw caution to the wind!

Those are racing gloves?

It was my first Daytona as well, but the white dial reference I had to wait two solid weeks to get it )) Sadly sold but very much missed! Such a staple piece in any collection.

Hopefully you get it back one day…
