Last summer when the new OP models were released, the line to get on the waiting list at Wempe in Mannheim was out the door. Some models however were visible in the display window. Today we returned so my wife could view some jewelry. Whereas other brands...

I was thinking the same thing. It looks so cool. What would something like this go for, 2-3k euro minimum? Edit: I think my estimate is way off. Looking at auctions I would say this is likely at 5-10k?

My authorized dealer called me on Saturday and informed me they have an all gold white faced sky dweller that just came in if I was interested. At first I said no but then I went in just to take a look at it and decided it wasn’t for me.

However for one moment I thought about picking it up and flipping it the next day but then the thought of being part of this crazy madness around this brand name in my opinion would be unethical. Just my opinion

Yes it is. The display would look better if they decorated the case with an interesting layout of Rolex memorabilia.

Maybe some framed vintage ads, one of those brass diving helmets, or anything else brand related would be better than this. With Rolex being Rolex it's possible they're told to keep displays as we see it. If optional, clean up that mess.

Bingo!

They’re missing a prime opportunity to get marketing swag, pictures of Everest expeditions, etc. in there that would make a compelling window to view

Wondering if you went Mo morning when they hadn't redecorated stuff after the weekend as it says Nachtdekoration...

The local Wempe here in Munich regularly removes most of the more expensive pieces for the night and for the weekend. Last night Patek was all empty and ALS had just two Saxonias... Not into Rolex, so I don't remember. The ALS boutique around the corner h...

Perhaps. Yes, the evening decoration sign was still there but all the Panerai, Cartier, IWC, JLC and most of the ALS positions were fully displayed. We were there at noon time.

We hope to return shortly to pick up a piece my wife ordered. This time I was not allowed to accompany her into the store due to occupancy restrictions. When we return if the window is still like today, I will ask if it is intentional. Best, Chico

Unfortunate...

Have stuck my head into various AD's over the past few years and this view is all too common. Demand is one thing, but the effect is truly dispiriting - in my opinion. I am an enthusiast and enjoy the surroundings of a beautiful watch boutique. Seeing emp...
