BB 58

 By: Jay (Eire) : April 9th, 2021-18:34
If I didn’t have this one perhaps the new Silver 58 would be high on the agenda this year. I am interested to see it in person, maybe that sways the decision. In the meantime I’ll keep enjoying this one. Have a good evening all, or good morning to our fri...

I like the many matte dials of BB's

I still have a general problem with Tudors looking too much like Rolex... TOO MUCH. If you wear one, people will think, Rolex. If this is the intention of the wearer, touche. If it is not, that is the problem. Either way, I like the matte.

I own this model...

... and I also own a Daytona and GMTII. What am I wearing now? This model. Why? Because it’s awesome, whether it looks like a Rolex or not.

Well, this was a “problem” always, but it’s not something that would bother me generally.

The similarities have obviously become far less with modern Tudor, it’s not like parts, cases etc are being shared these days. Similar to Chromatic Fugue, I own several Rolex sports models (across several generations) and I don’t see this as an inferior w...

I like the watch a lot!

Thanks for replies but for myself... as stated before, I don't get Tudor when it 'copies' Rolex so overtly... just don't get it... thanks again for your views... wish Tudor had it's own dna... Now the recently released SILVER case model... while still jus...

I understand, I can see your viewpoint too. But I think it’s a much lesser sin when they are part of the same house.

And these days, with the negative attention Rolex attracts I’m honestly a little more comfortable wearing the Tudor.

I love this idea!

Yes, similar thoughts.

The Chrono caught my eye too, but likely not for me at 41mm.

This BB58 is my second modern Tudor. I owned the Blue Pelagos for a couple of years but interestingly didn’t wear it much as when given the choice I usually grabbed a Sub. The titanium case and bracelet was something very appealing to me at the time, and ...

Yes, I’ve been thinking hard. The silver may merit a look just for the metal alone.

Like you I want to see how that dial and bezel look like in person, will have to wait and see.

I just love these BB58s a lot and like you I can’t wait to see the new one in person soon 🙏🏻

Till then i need to keep myself busy with these two ...

Already ordered the silver BB58 , hope to get it soon .

But curious to see the gold one as well

Yes Ted, it is simple. It’s a good size, the bracelet is thin (which I love) and the dial is very attractive and unspoiled by a cyclops or date window.

And the price is reasonable (it’s by no means cheap, but relative to where we’ve gone in the last 10-15 years this one is like a step back to the 1990s in terms of price).

I saw the silver BB 58 at my AD two hours ago

with both strap options and I could have taken either one. BUT: what a boring timepiece :-0 I did not even take a picture for heaven's sake because I was so disappointed. The dial is astonishingly grey and dull and the open caseback gives one the impressi...

Interesting, good to hear the hands on feedback.

What amazes me is that if they have gotten the strap choice wrong, how can that happen. And if it is the case it will definitely impact desirability in the case. But that wouldn’t put me off. And dull dials are no deterrent either (I have plenty of those)...

Have this watch

Barely wear it. Thanks for the reminder Jay - will wear today!

Indeed Gordon.

Picked up the BB58 silver today

I own the BB58 blue and loved it as soon as it was announced. But I could never get the bracelet to fit right with no half link available. Regardless I love the BB58 in blue. My AD got the silver in this morning and held it for me thinking i might like it...

Sort of...

Definitely different case treatment...brushed all around on the 925 and some shiny bits on the SS. On case thickness, I think it appears thicker in these pics but I compared the two again this morning and don’t really notice a difference. If there is, it’...

after seeing the novelties of tudor, i am happy to say that i order this one here (in blue)!
