Just a question r/e condition

Will this 'chipped' index on the dial affect value of the overall watch? I am just learning more on vintage Rolex, quite fun. Thanks for looking ...

Looks like a Mk1 1675…

It is still not difficult to find one in good condition so on that count, my view is the value should reflect the imperfection. However this sample has an all red gmt hand which is not common. Not sure what the others think.

Correct, it's mark 1 GMT

And all red gmt hand is also something I have never seen before so it could be a franken? Anyway, interesting example... thanks for your opinion!

I would say the hand patina not matching the dial patina will have more of an impact but...

When it comes to vintage Rolex EVERYTHING impacts the value.

Haha I think you're correct too

The price is not that high for this vintage mark 1 so I think it's far from a perfect example. Thanks!

Definitely a pass for me

But I am not buying any, just a ''case study'' 😀

It is all relative to the price paid.

With vintage rolex the price for a premium piece could be double or more of an average piece. In some cases the sum of the parts can be reversed into. Correct year rivet bracelet could be worth $2-4k, Insert fat font 2-4k. Red controversial hand is 1.5k. ...

Thanks for the info Bill 👍🏼

Will make this a reference. You're right, it does take knowledge to deal w/ vintage Rolex.
