AD - Boutique Visit

Happy Monday!

What better way to kick off the week than with some live shots of RM pieces. My local AD is in the midst of a transition to a full boutique, expanding the RM area of their store (also carrying Journe, Urwerk and MB&F) to encompass nearly the entire retail floorspace.

Upon hearing this, and the rumours that some pretty unique pieces would be in the display cases, I made a point to visit this past weekend, on a cool, blustery Saturday afternoon. Entering the store affirmed these suspicions, as I was greeted with no less than 10 RM pieces shown! Previously I had never seen more than 1-2 pieces available.

I have been quietly debating between an RM002, and something more contemporary like an 055 or 035, so I could not pass up the opportunity to see what the latest NTPT feels like on the wrist.

The red NTPT is so cool in person.. a bit too loud for what would be my one and only RM, but I can definitely appreciate how fun a watch like this would be to have. I also was not a big fan of the redesign of the case when seeing pictures, but in person, the edges around the spline screws add a level of dimensionality which I found very pleasing.

As well, I really like the look of the white-ceramic, and it shows exceptionally well in this RM030 treatment

The white ceramic bezel, combined with the black sides are just awesome.

The RM30 has always been a watch I liked, and even more so after having it on the wrist. Would I choose it over a time-only piece like the 035 or 055 considering the prices are similar? Hard to say for certain.

Also in attendance, but not photographed were a couple RM11 LE pieces, another blacked out 030, a brown 028, an 016 and a couple of the ladies pieces. I had hoped to see a tourbillon or two.. but I guess we're not quite in the big leagues yet!

For now, I will stick with my trusty Dato (pictured above in the background), but the lightness of the 035-02 was incredible!

Thank you for coming along with me, and hope you all have a good start to the week.
