Hi Chris,
Yes, same here. You should have noticed a bit a free play when the crown is pushed out. What I do is set the time and then turn the crown slightly in the opposite direction to be in this "free play" area before pushing it. This seems to work well at preventing the hands from jumping...
I think this is "by design" and that servicing the mechanism won't fix it, but let me know if I'm wrong.
