thats crazy ! this thief is in for a rude awakening at some point .

But people are reporting that he is wearing it at the U.S. Open. A different watch? And how come no news of this anywhere else?

Shocking news, Must admit I am quite intrigued as to how someone managed to steal it, inside job?, opportunist?, I mean I would expect a $500k watch would be kept pretty secure in general. Anyway good point about it not being able to surface for servicing...

as the non believers such as Mr 'You cannot be serious' who ridicule such expensive watches in the first place can just say 'well, what do you expect?'. So not only is it sad for the person who in the end will be accumulating the monetary loss but an even... 

And that comes from someone who has spent his life defending the high end watch business with comparisons of art at endless dinner tables from comments such as 'but how can you justify wearing a watch worth xxxxx when there are people starving in Africa' ... 

I believe any news that comes from anything concerning Rafa and his watch is a positive. The only negative would be if his watch stopped during a game and he is seen holding it near his ear and shaking it. Thats a bad reflection, that would be bad news fo...

Look at art work that has been stolen, there are Buyers out there that don't care if it is legit, they still pay high dollar for it. Lets face it, that watch is a work of art for sure. Although a lot of times the fencing for stolen art is done before the ... 

as to how a $500k watch gets stolen....I wonder if it was insured?. Surely there must be some sort of story about how it actually happened floatinng about somewhere....and has it been replaced yet?

its not necessarily 500k we are speaking about here, right? I mean this was a prototype given to RN, by RM, for him to wear during his matches etc.... The real cost of the physical stolen goods is much less, then you take into consideration of course mark... 

It wouldn't be a prototype! If I were the person that lost it, I would fight for double the RRP. A unique rm27? Has to be worth double.

I believe it was a numbered prototype? Meaning there are a few proto's manufactured? If that's true you can actually produce as many protos as you'd like.
