Piaget SIHH 2012 Preview Piaget Altiplano Skeleton Ultra-Thin Two years ago, in a darkened safe room at Piaget headquarters, I was privy to view some prototypes that were eventually announced at SIHH 2010 as the double world record Piaget Altiplano Ultra-...
And at 38 mm it's touching perfection, 43 mm was too much for me. It looks great. A skeleton ULTRA thin automatic movement, what else? I was amazed at the SIHH with the "standard" movement when it was released. This is a step further. Bravo to Piaget!. A ...
have at least three wrist watches: 1) A daily timepiece, 2) A sporty timekeeper, 3) An ultra-thin Black Tie horological accessory is de rigeur. This 38 mm diameter round Altiplanon Automatic Skeleton is the dress watch par excellence. Regards, MTF
Luckily I'm not a Gentleman because I have a bunch of number ones and twos but no three. But I guess that when I'll get my Piaget, people around me will notice the difference when I'm turning to a true Gentleman! Best, Kari
Although I would prefer it to have blued hands. Just a personal preference. I assume this is not a limited edition? Hmmm, time to start saving up. Regards, Richard.
Well, why not? It's an idea to put forward to Piaget. Seriously, like most Piaget watches, it is not a limited edition but limited production makes it quite uncommon. The first batch worldwide must only be about xyz watches since each one requires hand fi...
dsgalaxy1, Much material has been removed from the solid movement plates of the 1200P to make the skeleton 1200S. Hand finishing is also evident. Mainplate: hand bevelling Balance bridge: hand drawing.....burnishing of the angles. Regards, MTF...

It's stunningly beautiful. Really, truly an inspired offering from Piaget. The size is right, the technical mastery on display is immense, the design is cohesive, and the watch exudes brand DNA (ultra-thin, high finish, powerful yet discrete). Thanks for ...
When I was researching the Altiplano and Ultrathin movements for the Piaget quiz I kept thinking how nice this watch would be in a more wearable size, so this is an answered prayer. And the micro rotor visible from the front should animate the dial nicely...
... and that was to emphatically drive home how thin the watch was. It looked great in profile, and made a 'statement' on the wrist, but it didnt strike me as elegant, which is what this watch should be. And when I am buying brands like Piaget and Chopard...
39mm would do it. ;-) The only other observation (NOT criticism) is that a larger balance wheel would be lovely to see. It looks like there might be a bit of room to play with, especially if the balance bridge were re-shaped. MTF, your powers of persuasio...
