Did you use a macro? I'm always hesitant to get up close and personal with bugs...

Using the Canon FDn 80-200L/4 I can get to about .7m, but this is closer to 1m away, and the spider isn't very large (1-1.5cm). I liked the web she had set up as it offered a nice lead in and natural framing, and her pose was just great and "inviting". Th... 

And goes to prove the point, there are multiple ways to achieve the desired result. Great shot great framing!
