We have the Matterhorn, and you have the Mt Fuji ;)

I went to Japan in 2005 on a business trip.
I took the chance to visit Tokyo and Kyoto. I enjoyed it a lot and only have good memories about that trip.
Kind regards

February 2016 road trip to 清里 (Kiyosato)

Two views of 富士山 (Mount Fuji) as seen from Yamanashi Prefecture. About two hours door-to-door from central Tokyo, Kiyosato is considered to be a highland resort area... our hotel was located at about 1,400 meters. Both photos using a Manfrotto 190CX Pro4 ...

I must have flown into Zurich 3-4 times before the weather was clear enough to see the mountains. I was blown away. I was fortunate enough to visit many times. Beautiful. Casey

it was a tour of the country with my then (Swiss) boss... We stayed at a little inn with a pub on the first floor and one off views of the Matterhorn. During our visit there was a huge landslide that closed off the valley and buried the train tracks so th...

I can't wait to visit Japan again. I agree with Nico, the first pic. is frame worthy, to be enlarged and placed prominently as a centre piece in the living room. I only just started photography when I met you. How fortunate was I to have met a master at t...

When I see this photo I think of the moments standing on the balcony just soaking in the view... just a 'perfect' time of the morning. Casey
Both excellent photos

But I like the second one best. Nice detail and contrast on the first mountain range while preserving the range in the mist and the clouds on the horizon. Wonderful photo.
Both nice.

The first, with the 100mm lens is my favorite.

Curiosity

Out curiosity but what made you decide to select 1/10 shutter speed on the first one? Why not slightly faster shutter and bit lower ISO?
Re: color photo at 1/10 sec, f/5.6 and ISO 400
By: cshimokita : June 4th, 2020-11:58
Given the early morning and soft light, I could have followed the hand held rule of thumb of 1/100 sec when using 100 mm lens thus giving me a possible (and equivalent) exposure of 1/125 sec, f/2.8 and ISO 1600. However, I understand that the native ISO f...

If I was to go back to Kiyosato I might be tempted to take along the Nikon AI-s 105mm f/2.8 Micro. Certainly for my next photo shoot / road trip I will pack the longer lens. The 50 gives me more or less what I saw that morning vs. the artistic advantage o...
