After the last few posts with birds in flight, now some photos of small birds. It’s almost impossible to catch them in flight unless you really prepare well, find the optimum location and be very very very patient but shoot many many pictures. It’s a bit ...

And by the way, it’s in hindsight not as difficult as it may seem. I started in March when lockdown occurred. Before that time I have never ever made a picture of a bird. And was silently laughing about the guys who spent days trying to capture one partic...

the latter because of the reflection in the eye... I am reminded of that old proverb has something to do about standing on the side of the hill, a roast duck, and an open mouth . I go as far as swans floating on the lake ; ) Casey

The proverb is very much appreciated although must admit I had to look it up. I found that it’s from Confucius “A man who stands on the side of a hill with his mouth open will wait a long time before the roast duck drop in” The 1st photo is one I like as ... 

I had never seen a bird with his eyes closed and was surprised. He wasn’t sleeping but apparently they scratch their beak on a twig to clean it (or maybe he just had an itch haha) But i agree it’s gives something special or at least rare to the photo
