But does these x-ray machine interfere with or damage the sensitive parts of a digital camera ( the sensor) ?

The way I understand the technology... it applies to film

in that the film can become fogged. The impact of the older scanning technology was endlessly debated among film users. Now it seems that Kodak and even TSA are warning film users... so rather be save than sorry. Personally I would not worry about digital... 

I would never say never about the effect of the 'rays'... I am not an expert
