Sony is a consumer electronics company so a failure like this does not surprise me...

I have never seen this using Canon, Hasselblad, Casio, nor Fuji digital cameras and not heard of a similar situation from any photographers. It could have been a failure to write (i.e. a disk/media problem) or a camera driver issue... Maybe try to download the image again and/or reload the newest camera firmware. How does viewing the image in camera look? and/or What did you see when you chimped?
If it's a one time occurrence, let it slide for the time being.

Looking back through my files today I came across a blue image. Could my camera have freaked out? Or could it be possible that it captured such an intense image? I don't have the shot preceding this one Here's the data my Aperture screen shows for that ph...
