Let me repeat the image, because it's beautiful and the family resemblance between ermine and ferret is, I think, appropriate.

Of course. But the second of your images is quite ermine-esque, don't you think? Whatever, she's fascinatingly beautiful. (As, indeed, is Cecilia Gallerani!) [nt]

New phone! At every new phone generation I keep asking myself what to do with my photographic camera! Luckily I still have some answers!

The parents run away every time we come near. We try to be careful but also need to get to our front door. :) [nt]

Beautiful and cute at once! :-) What's the breed? Google gives me "European swallow" (rondine?). [nt]

Oh yes, then Google was correct ("rondine" in Italian, very similar)...French is definitely more useful to me than English with birds names! :-) [nt]

Cinciallegra....
By: Mary Anny : May 30th, 2020-08:55
The Eurasian blue tit (Cyanistes caeruleus). Herrerillo común, Mésange bleue, Pimpelmees, Blaumeise... (Obviously the Italian name is the funniest!)

Thanks! Then I confess I never heard of the "Cinciallegra" before (in any language!), but a funny Italian name for sure :-) [nt]

For some reason I am reminded of my neighbor when I was growing up... a lovely older couple who kept a pet bird... they were my first 'professional' portrait. I was still in grade school and it was a flash photo... how I wish I had a copy ; ) Casey
