A night in Provence this summer...

Col de l'Espigoulier to be precise, same place where I already shot few night pics last year wink
Hope you will like these shots. It's not that easy, actually there is a big proportions that goes straight to the bin and only few where the result is ok. But after all these few are already better than what I could do until recently, it's fun…
Hope you had nice summer holidays too smile
Mike

My pick is the first photo (the one beacon of light is a nice touch), but I also like the impact of the second... will this be an annual event?... hope so. What were the shot details on that first photo... camera, lens, exposure? Improving year on year is...

Thank you for your kind words Casey

I was not aware of this Kenko Astro LPR Type 2 and it seems available in different diameters. As you said it is far to be cheap for a filter that you use occasionally only but if I had a chance to try it one day I could be tempted. Of course the city ligh...

These are beautiful photos, Mike.

Thank God the proportion is not to that extent ! I am certainly not patient enough to have to choose one out of 1 million ! I would have renounced since ages ! OMG

A beautiful region for sure...

To tell you the truth, the idea of doing astro-photography came to me last year when we visited DB manufacture at the occasion of the Grand Independants Tour and GTG in June. I’ll send the pics to Denis Flageollet and tell him that he inspired me

Magnifique, Mike 👍 [nt]

First you must wait for the deep late night so in summer no need to move before 23:00 at the earliest, then drive as far as you can for avoiding city light pollution (unless you have the new Kenko filter Casey is mentioning), then when you have finally fo...

It sounds very challenging Mike!

Now I'm having second thoughts.

No no don’t have second thoughts...

It’s really fun even if it is indeed challenging and the result is quite rewarding at the end. I was obviously more comfortable for watch macro photo or portrait and landscape but it’s cool to discover new things. Your skills for street photo are well kno...
