3970 has long been underrated but is now truly recognized as a great transition between the iconic vintage 2499 and the more modern 5970 (which is certainly also a fantastic ref with perfect proportions).
I personally also absolutely LOVE ithe 3970 so I fully understand your excitement when wearing this beauty!
