Patek Philippe

One of the modern Patek which makes my hear beat faster, along with the 5960A, the 5100P or G, the 5970P and the 5930. Still have to score one, which will be very challenging. It has the magic of the spit seconds , and the captivating charm of enamel. Add...  

But aesthetically would prefer the subdials aligned to 9-3.. the blues quite charming ...  

I had the opportunity to wear one from time to time few years back as a common friend had one. It is totally amazing and fascinating I agree but a bit too large for my small wrist. As for me I do prefer the black dial version that has now been replaced by... 

Case, dial, movement, this watch has it all. Interesting that there's no collector-frenzy around it. Prices are, dare I say it, reasonable. (Which of course doesn't mean *I've* got the money!)

enamel dial which as you know holds a soft spot for me !😉. The blue dial is also plenty good. You mentioned about 5370P and other Pateks that make your heart beat faster, but what about 5131G ?😇 ...

but the blue is even more stunning. Possibly the best blue dial watch (to me).

Finally I know why I find something is lacking.. The enamel is 1 single piece.. but if you look at other patek enamels eg the 5078P/5078G/5178G, they are essentially 2 pieces ie the subdial is sunken.. these dials have more depth and look more refined

I am sure they could have made recessed subdials for the secs and chrono mins.. despite being enamel, the dial lacks finesse 😕

The printed breguet numerals are also very nice

...or maybe it was just too top-heavy. It is a beauty though...

...I think it was the thickness/heaviness of platinum that made it a bit unbalanced. Steel would have helped. The 5950A had a very slim movement. Not sure why they can't adapt that technology...
