Why the 5711 production is "limited" (very relatively speaking, especially for Patek's standards) is a topic we discussed and analyzed countless times, but I can understand your disappointment if you'd like a given watch and can't get it allocated.
Always to be 100% honest, I simply can NOT see a likely scenario in which this huge delta in demand vs. production will change anytime soon, when it comes to Patek (and also for select few other brands, though often for different reasons). If you're interested in a given Patek, however, be it the 5711/1A or any other reference, it certainly won't hurt to show an interest to one or two ADs -- this is the best you (or anyone else) can do, and sometimes we get lucky! ;-)

I can understand and appreciate why collectors like this edition.
It is not yet my style to have ice on the bezel because only in recent years that I accepted diamond hour markers which are discrete enough (5711 40th and 5170P) for me. Perhaps in time.

It's a reasonable opinion, which you expressed politely, so be reassured that it's 100% welcome on WPS ;-) (Note: Of course I *completely* disagree with it, but that's a different story! ;-))
Ironically, at the cost of sounding equally dramatic, it might be more of an issue in the short term that these two new 5711s received such an overwhelmingly *positive* response since we presented them three nights ago, even though I'm obviously very happ...
