If you're as slow and careful a skier as I am, I'd say it's pretty safe to wear it. On the other hand, if you're as clumsy and incompetent a skier as I am, I'd say it's not a good idea at all.
i finally opted for one of the metal G Shock to make sure it's safe. Irony is as i have not worn them for a while, it ran out of battery so i ended up with no watch but this was fine tbh. Cheers, Kev
I am not a super extreme skier but will not escape from a few falls. I won’t take it with me Maybe I could wear the DJ but I keep hearing it’s not safe to wear Rolex anymore those days … Thanks! Kev
Prepare for the worse, Don't take it. Falling is the least thing to worry about, but all these "metal" handshakes with lifts, poles, skis, loading/unloading from vehicles, etc are not worth the risk.
As a frequent and avid skier my advice is if you are doing the level of skiing that for you requires a helmet then you don’t want to wear a dress watch. If you have the helmet on wear a sports watch!
