Patek Philippe - WHICH company do you know ....

WHICH company do you know ....

... nowadays makes everything in house ?? When i say " in-house", i mean IN HOUSE ?? Unless patek philippe have their own steel mill, their own gold mine, and their own goldsmiths, dont tell me Patek shouldnt be using Lemania movement. Dont get me wrong, this is not a hate mail neither.

In our world today, who can honestly say, that their products is completely made within their own factory ...?? Please, enlightened me if you know of one. I am not talking about a simple product, but rather complicated products. I am sure Boeing airline do not cut down their own rubber tree, to make their own tires. I am sure, Ferrari do not own a copper mine, steel mine or their own paint maker factory.

Hermes makes one of the most expensive handbags which sells for XXX amount of money, i am wondering, do they raise their own cattle, or aligators or lizards whereby they can supply themselves with their own in house leather ?? Does that make these above mentioned companies not worthy ??

Am I the only one who thinks that it is a sacrilege for Patek to be using Lemania movements in their 5970 and 5004 lines? Just a thought... Maybe that explains why the 5970 is relatively cheap compared to the 3499...

I don't think your question merits anything like "hate mail"! However, i would take teh view that the use of teh Lamania movement is not in the slightest a problem. You have to remember that for a very very long time, Jaeger LeCoultre made many parts for ...

Hi, I would not compare so easily a 2499 to a 5970 -produced at different times in history of watchmaking and watch market- but I can remind that the 2499 calibre was based on a Valjoux calibre, like the 5970 calibre is based on a Lemania calibre! Rarity ...
