Your handiwork is impressive Jay! Thank you for sharing the wonderful photos and experience.
I share your passion for the dials crafted by Jerome. Although I have not had the opportunity to meet him, his work has haunted my dreams via photos from the various PP rare handcrafts and adorning the wrists of collectors here. I also echo your sentiments that the typically traditional settings aren't my specific taste; however I would be very interested if they would consider special project requests. It might endear the owner further to the timepiece if he/she had something of significant meaning on the dial.
Seeing how small the numbered editions are, it doesn't seem that far fetched to entertain special requests. I would personally choose my view from home to take with on the wrist, natural and peaceful in the early morning twilight. If only..

Marquetry. Never ceases to amaze me.

For me the greatest of the rare handcraft skills. To see the craftsman in person, to see the process and speak about the steps involved just amazes me every time. Unfortunately the designs and themes chosen by Patek for these dials are too traditional, ol...
Truly amazing.

While the design is not for my taste, and that’s somewhat irrelevant as it’s not my watch, it does not distract in any way from my appreciation of the skill that goes into these dials. It’s my second time seeing this in person and I walk away each time so...

What would be a good modern topic for a marquetry dial? It seems perfect for sepia-toned old timey subjects, nature and landscapes. Actually, I have a modern topic! One of the NASA Martian rovers in situ! A perfect sepia-toned modern scene!

I think we need something like a KAWS Edition!

Thierry would likely have security escort me out of the the building immediately if I ever suggested that though! Maybe KAWS is not the ideal but something along those lines would be interesting. It’s in need of shaking up.

Where did you hear me say “they can’t sell them”?
By: Jay (Eire) : October 5th, 2019-10:17
(The designs) They are boring, old fashioned, they don’t appeal to me. I did essentially say all that. I also said the skill and craftsmanship involved in the production of these pieces is something I really appreciate. So I agree 100% with you that “uniq...
And I reiterate....if you only make 2 ugly designs

You just need 3 people it!!! The astronaut for NY was jaw gaping stuff....does it really need a contemporary feel and 10 000 on a waitlist??? However generally I dont like the designs either and certainly dont want a flower on an enamel peace....but the ...
