Well

Well,

Like for the 5296, it is the same reference but certainly with some figures after 5396!

Not really a new watch.

 By: Dje : December 20th, 2009-05:19
Hi, I'm officialy allowed to confirm that a new dial will be offered on the annual calendar reference 5396. We've discussed that watch recently: patek.watchprosite.com / The new version should be out in the stores in January. There will be no more informa...

Must have!

Very, very beautiful watch and a very typical PP design inspired by those glorious perpetual calenders first launched in the 40s. Combined with the dauphine hands...drop dead gorgeous!!! It will be on my wrist as soon as possible, that's for sure. Only qu...

I have no other information

Just when Patek disappoints me with watches like the new ladies chronograph and the awful officer caseback Calatrava launched this year, it redeems itself with a watch like the new 5396. Bravo. - SJX

thanks for the info J : wonderful evergreen watch with this dial

I have one question for you Jerome : do you know if it is possible to order Patek watch with special dials ? In the past I saw 2499 , 3970 with special dials order for only one customer (unique pcs. or just few realized) Does Patek still offer this servic...

I don't think so

 By: Dje : December 20th, 2009-11:51
Hi, I don't think you can order special dials, but I think a few watches had dial variations (like black or white on the 3970). If you think about getting a 5004 dial on a 3970 I think it was another time. I guess there's too much speculation now to allow...

No, they don´t ...

 By: mac_omega : December 20th, 2009-14:01
No, they don´t - AFAIK - as I tried it in Germany to order a swap dial but they strictly said "NO" But maybe you are more successful in other markets and with good connections... As you know Germans are very strict in everything they do  best  Erich

Henry Graves, Jr. would be very displeased! [nt]

dial changes

 By: mike2 : December 20th, 2009-16:27
I was in Geneva in November to pick up a watch and I asked the question about dial changes and was told that PP no longer did that as there was such an after market for dials and not all of them were from Patek Philippe

Special requests/order dials ceased as of Nov. 2003, in the US.

Of course it never hurts to ask.

Why....

 By: MiniCooper : December 20th, 2009-14:09
did they change the dial? Cheers

I have no idea

 By: Dje : December 21st, 2009-02:12
Hi, I have no idea why, and no more if the new dial replaces the old one or if it is available on top of it. Cheers Dje

From what I was told....

 By: MiniCooper : December 21st, 2009-14:10
by an AD, the old one will no longer be available (with the exception the ones already produced and not yet sol)... the new face is an evolution.... Although it looks nice.....I also like the outgoing model... Cheers

Thanks Dje...Glad to have a sector dial before the change

While this is nice, it seems vanillia Calatrava compared to the beautiful sector dial. Cheers, -- Richard.

+1

Love the new dial, looks great!

Thanks, Jerome...

It looks very classic! Mimic a 3448. Just wonder if the price of Wempe 5125 may drop after the the release of new 5396. BTW, would you guess whether there will be a PT version with black dial later? If so, would be a killer! Cheers,

5125

it's a limited edition, with special engraving, and for those with German days/months... it'll always be something special, with its own reference number. Which reminds me... why did PP decide to call this 5396 instead of a new reference???? Dje... care t...
