Indeed your papers (nice to have the original ones btw) won't tell much more. About the Patrizzi, they stop before the 3940 in their introduction paragraph so I could just see an illustrating picture of a 3940 with the reference and date... no much more i...

Actually, the watch hasn't been serviced in Paris, nor in Geneva. In Paris they told me that one should ask directly to the manufacture, which seems to be a long process, even if I don't think they will accept to lose time for this. Did you already try su... 

Thus you have nothing to loose asking Patek, whatever the time will be needed to gather the elements. I never tried but if I had purchased an old vintage watch I would try to get as much info as possible by asking them. They will anyway tell you the limit...

First get an archives certificate , although you have some papers. You have a very nice perpetual calendar. Enjoy your watch. Cheers. Geross.
