To Mostel: Thank you.
To those who suggest earlier PP’s : A) some of them are smaller than I like and B) I had my heart set on a new one. But thank you for the kind suggestions and the effort of researching earlier models.
To Tony: The point is that I know it is there, I can see it and that is the aspect that bothers me the most.
To Michael Chang: Your opinion is different than mine, but I respect it and shows that some folks like it.
To Andreas: You had me laughing. Utter disgust is what comes to mind when I see the cabochon crowns in a Man’s watch.
To those suggesting that I get an ALS and be done with it.. I probably will but I really like some of the the Patek design aesthetics better and hence the lament. As much as I like the clean design of ALS they come across as a bit “cold” to me with the exception of the 1815 which I am considering. PP’s 5196G is a prime example of clean design that is …well… not as cold. Wish the PT version was just like the WG version or at the very least did not have the little diamond.
To the flamers and detractors… well.. the less said the better.
BTW, is PP_Geneve really a PP representative? Marketing slogan aside, PP did not even dignify me with a response when I sent a polite email asking if there were possibilities in the future of Platinum Patek’s without the Diamond.
Still holding out hope that I can own (and is PP_Geneve really a PP representative ?) a PP in the future with Oscillomax and PP will oblige and make some pieces in Platinum that I like without the Diamond. Never know.
