Vintage Skeleton Wristwatch

Jun 18, 2010,01:19 AM

Hello everyone,

I'm new to the forum and I'm not a watch collector. So my father gave me this watch when I was a teenager as a gift and I kept it all these years and I recently remembered about it. I'm actually looking forward to sell it but I think I need to gather a little bit more of information and knowledge about it first, e.g. its real value and about its authenticity.

So far I know that this type of watch is called Skeleton, this one in particular is the Automatic  YG as I saw a very similar one pictured in another post by VPREGULATOR

home.watchprosite.com

The watch comes with its original box. I think it is a 22k watch. Please take a look at the pictures and if you need any more details or detailed images let me know.

Any help in regards to its authenticity and real value will be much appreciated.

Best Regards

Merwin

To give you an idea of the value, think about the secondhand price for a 5980

hi, We don't allow watches for sale on the forum. Furthermore a watch discussed on the forum should not be put up for sale for at least six months. Cheers Dje

Have you tried looking for info. about Ref.3878?

This seems to be a standard Patek 3878 skeleton. It is an expensive object, which can be sold thru ebay or auction; I am sure that many members of this forum would be prepared to buy it. Edmund

Hello Sorry for the late reply - went abroad all this while. You certainly have a real treasure there - I'll keep it within the family if I were you. They don't make enough of these watches nowadays and there will be a lot of people who'll like to buy it ...

Thank you for your feedback....
