I have a slightly older 5146g and recently tried a new R variant on and thought the case proportions might have been slightly different. Sounds like not the case though
5146 - has anything changed in recent production years? e.g., 2019 vs 2017 vs 2015

One thing that has changed over the years is the moon phase indicator. Early watches had a very reflective moon disc, which made it hard to see when viewing from certain angles. On newer watches the moon disc is less reflective and has some grainy texture...
The biggest most significant change was moving from 315 movement (21,600 beats, Geneva seal) to 324 movement (28,800 beats, PP seal)
They also changed the deployant, to the modern round one.
